Community Engagement

At Kids Inspire, our Community Engagement team works alongside communities across Essex and Suffolk to support children, young people and their families, build strong local relationships, and raise awareness of our mental health services.

What do we do?

Our Community Engagement work currently focuses on:

  • Supporting low income families

  • Exploring the use of our new film, The Coat, with secondary schools

  • Expanding and developing The Voice, our weekly youth group

Our Community Engagement team’s current focus areas are:

Chelmsford, Colchester and Ipswich.

Why community engagement matters

Community Engagement is key to how Kids Inspire grows its support.

We nurture our existing relationships while often being the first team to work in new areas. This includes raising awareness of Kids Inspire and building trusted connections with local schools, families and communities.

This early work helps us understand local need and remove barriers to support. It also opens the door for our wider services, including our Therapy teams, to reach more children and families.

Community events

Our Community Engagement Team identifies areas where children and young people need support and partners with local organisations to deliver events that benefit the community.

Highlights of the Year

Coming soon!

Assemblies and workshops

We’re currently reviewing and developing our Community Engagement work with schools in Essex and Suffolk.

At present, we’re not booking new assemblies or workshops while we focus on creating new content built around our film The Coat. Updates on our schools programme will be shared soon.

Working with Schools

Our work within education is focused on schools with students, who receive pupil premium, are from low-income families, and are located within our identified focus areas of Essex and Suffolk. If you are in doubt as to whether we could support your school, please get in touch via communityengagement@kidsinspire.org.uk.
