Why work for us

If you’re passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people, Kids Inspire is the place for you.

Founded in 2007, Kids Inspire is a children's mental health charity currently working in Essex and Suffolk, offering free trauma recovery support to children and young people who might not otherwise afford it.

Leading with a trauma informed approach, we address the causes rather than the symptoms of trauma and focus on supporting children and young people to overcome challenges, heal from trauma, and build brighter futures.

Real impact

You’ll be part of a team offering life-changing support

At Kids Inspire, every role contributes to transforming the lives of children and families facing trauma and mental health challenges.

What you do at work will have a direct and lasting impact.

A supportive team

We’re proud of our inclusive, collaborative culture.

We value each person’s contribution and believe support should extend to our team, not just our those we support.

You'll have access to regular case management, training time, and ongoing professional development to help you grow and thrive.

Creative and innovative charity

Our therapists use a range of approaches

From art and play therapy to music and talking therapies. All sessions are tailored to the individual needs of each child.

Across the charity, we encourage creative thinking and new ideas, whether that’s embracing new tech or improving how we work together.

Whether you’re early in your career or looking to step into something new, we offer regular training, workshops, and mentoring to support your progression.

We want you to feel supported as you develop your skills and confidence.

Strong community roots

Make meaningful connections

We work closely with schools, families, and local partners to build a safe and supportive network around every child.

When you join Kids Inspire, you’ll have the chance to make meaningful connections in the communities we are proud to be a part of and see the impact of your work first-hand.

Wellbeing matters

We look after our own

As a mental health charity, we know the importance of looking after our own.

We offer flexible working, extra leave, and a focus on wellbeing that runs through our whole organisation. When our staff are supported and happy, they can do their best work for the children and families we support.
