Head of Impact
The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and strategic leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Head of Impact.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape and lead Kids Inspire's approach to impact, evaluation and organisational learning. You will help us better understand, evidence and continuously improve the difference our services make, ensuring that data, clinical insight, practitioner experience and lived experience are brought together to drive meaningful change.
We are seeking someone with significant experience in impact, evaluation, learning or quality improvement within the charity, health, education or social care sectors, who combines strategic thinking with a collaborative and values-led approach to leadership.
About Kids Inspire
Founded in 2007, Kids Inspire is a children's mental health charity currently working in Essex and Suffolk, offering free trauma recovery support to children and young people who might not otherwise afford it.
Leading with a trauma informed approach that looks at negative childhood experiences, we address the causes rather than the symptoms and focus on supporting children and young people to overcome challenges, heal from trauma, and build brighter futures.
What do we do?
We provide personalised recovery plans through individual and group sessions, ensuring every child gets the help they need.
Through our interventions, we are specifically committed to supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes in their social and emotional development, having healthy and safe relationships, and engaging positively with their learning.
Therapy sessions focus on the strengths of the child and family. They build and nurture resilience and self-confidence, enabling children and young people to process difficult emotions and thrive. Our qualified and experienced therapists are trained in a broad range of therapeutic interventions, specifically tailored to each child's unique needs.
We also offer family support sessions that empower families with the skills and confidence they need to support their child's mental health.
The role
Job title: Head of Impact
Normal place of work: Hybrid working. Face-to-face locations include Kids Inspire’s Chelmsford Head Office.
Contractual terms: Employed/Fixed Term Contract for three years.
Hours: 37.5 hours
Salary band: Band 8a (£51,067 to £57,479 FTE) depending on experience and specialist qualifications)

Main activities
lead the development and implementation of Kids Inspire's organisational impact framework
strengthen how the organisation measures, understands and evidences outcomes for children, young people and families
oversee the collection, analysis and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative impact data
embed a culture of learning, reflection and evidence-informed practice across the organisation
support teams to use data and insight to improve service quality and outcomes
identify trends, patterns and emerging needs to inform service development and innovation
strengthen organisational systems for impact reporting, monitoring and evaluation
support the ongoing development of integrated reporting, CRM and outcomes systems
lead and develop the Impact Team, including the Senior Data Analyst, Clinical Impact Manager and Research Assistant
contribute as a member of the Senior Leadership Team to organisational strategy and planning
support fundraising and marketing and communications activity through the development of compelling impact evidence and narratives
represent Kids Inspire externally in relation to impact, evaluation and organisational learning.
Requirements and conditions:
degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as social research, psychology, public health, data, evaluation or similar
significant experience leading impact, evaluation, learning or quality improvement within the charity, health, education or social care sectors
experience developing and implementing impact measurement or evaluation frameworks
strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative approaches to evaluation and organisational learning
experience leading and developing teams
excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex information for a range of audience
commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and ethical practice.
full driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance cover for travel across Essex and surrounding areas if required
to act as ambassador for Kids Inspire
You will be subject to an enhanced check of criminal records via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
