Spending time together during the school holidays
The summer holidays can feel long at times, and it’s completely normal for families to feel the pressure of filling the days or managing changing routines. Not every day needs to be full or structured.
Many children benefit from simple, predictable and low-pressure time together. Often, it’s these quieter moments – time outdoors, shared activities, or simply being together – that help children feel most settled.
If you’re looking for more free things to do with kids in Essex and Suffolk, local councils, libraries and community groups often share up-to-date activities throughout the school holidays.
