Corporate wrapping week in the Christmas Appeal

This week HQ has been buzzing with volunteers from Kids Inspire's corporate supporters.

Their first task (after an introduction from our Appeal Co-ordinator, Siobhan, and a tour of our therapy space for our new corporates) is to ‘select and match’ an age-appropriate gift from all the treasures that have been donated via our Wishlist or directly delivered to us, it’s a tricky job and can take a bit of time to find the right one!

Next up is the meticulous task of wrapping and tagging, a job not to rush to keep the gift looking extra special. This is also the time the volunteer will need to check if siblings are on the nomination and to select the additional gifts for them too.

Volunteers and corporate gifts!

Once complete, the child and their family’s gifts are packed (sometimes with a delicious-looking food hamper too) and are ready for delivery. A well-planned operation is in place so that our volunteers can take as many gifts as possible in one delivery to schools, social workers or health workers. This week volunteers have delivered to Colchester, Harlow, Brentwood, Ongar, and many more.

This appeal could not happen without these special gifts. That may be the gift of time, a donation to the appeal, or presents and hampers. All is welcome to help us to coordinate, manage and fulfill all of the nominations received and to make Christmas time special for those children that really need it.

The professionals (social workers, schools, health visitors and our own clinical team!) that have made the nominations have been telling us that gifts are going to refugee children, children in care or living in poverty, and to children that have had their lives turned upside due to unexpected bereavement.
