Impetus has selected Kids Inspire to be a charity partner

Today, Impetus announced that Kids Inspire is one of three charities, out of 190 applications, to have been selected to receive financial and consultative backing.

Funding and professional support will help Kids Inspire to grow its impact and to further support young people, and their families, with mental health and trauma recovery services.

The application to Impetus began following significant growth over the last 2 years. As demand for specialist support services continues, so does our dedication to promoting self-awareness, self-resilience, and positive relationship building for young people. Helping them to improve their mental health and to reengage in education.

Upon hearing the good news today, our CEO, Clinical Director and Founder commented:

“We are delighted to have been selected by Impetus and have found the process of partnership building a positive way of getting to know the organisation.

Impetus’s expertise and funding will support Kids Inspire to grow in size and impact so that the ever-increasing mental health and social emotional needs of young people are met. Our creative trauma-informed therapeutic services help young people and the adults in their lives to recover from adverse childhood experiences so that they can engage fully in educational and social opportunities and go on to lead emotionally healthy, aspirational and fulfilling lives.” - Sue Bell OBE

In addition to Kids Inspire, the two other charities that were announced as charity partners today, are the Jon Egging Trust and Khulisa, both based in the UK.

About Impetus

Impetus believes that learning social and emotional skills can help young people to succeed in school, work, and life

They are an organisation transforming the lives of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, by making sure they get the right support to succeed in school, work and life. They do this by backing charities, partnering with other funders and through policy and research.

“We can’t wait to start working with these three high-potential charities. It’s crucial that young people have the opportunity to build their social and emotional learning skills - we will work shoulder-to-shoulder with these charities to help them become stronger organisations that transform the lives of the young people they serve.” - Tanya Curry, Interim Chief Executive, Impetus

What next?

In addition to funding, Impetus will work shoulder-to-shoulder with the leaders of the three charities to help with growth and increased impact.

Impetus have commissioned The Centre for Education and Youth to produce a report on the current state of play of social and emotional learning. It will include a review of existing research on what works, expert interviews and case studies of their charity partners. The report will be launched at an event in October, please follow Impetus on social media to stay up to date on this.
