Kids Inspire - why support us

Most adults recognise that children and young people need security, stability, love and encouragement. Sadly, sometimes even our imaginations fail to help us understand the dependency of young children, or the vulnerability of adolescents, regardless of their displays of bravado.

Figures released in May 2010, show that as many as 1.5 million youngsters are estimated to suffer abuse each year but only 550,000 are referred to social services. Over-worked care departments are allocating a social worker to only 35,100 of these. You may think that poverty and neglect does not affect the young people of Essex...

We know there is a huge demand for our services as we have been inundated with requests for help from families, schools and support organisations since we set up. We now provide varying degrees of support for many young people and their families.

We don't exaggerate when we state that Kids Inspire is the last possible area of support for many of the young children and adults in the Chelmsford area. It matters to the local community and through measurable results we are making a tremendous difference.
