The Golden Pot
The Golden Pot subsidises therapy for children who have only partial funding from schools, or whose families can offer a contribution. Individuals and businesses who donate to the Golden Pot can choose to support specific children and families in this group.
Children like these:
Hailey. She is a gifted pupil who has been diagnosed with Asperger’s. As a result she has real trouble with forming friendships, with social boundaries, and suffers from anxiety. There has been real instability in her home life and in addition, as she generally presents as a younger child, Hailey has been the subject of bullying. It will cost £ xxx per term to provide her with an art therapist who will help her with her non verbal communication and to put into pictures what she cannot put into words.
Tom. He wasn’t attending school until we began to work with him and his parents to discover that his Mum was suffering from some mental health issues. We referred her to Social Services to get her the practical support that the family needed and began to work with Tom on a one to one basis. As a result, Tom’s attendance at school went up to 96%. We anticipate that Tom will need to continue to see his therapist for another academic year. This would require funding of £xxx per term.
Rhona. She suffers from low self esteem and was bullied at school. Family therapy revealed that her father had been abused as a child and that her mother has some mental health issues. Their sessions with Kids Inspire have allowed each family member to have a voice in a safe space. In order to give Rhona the support that she desperately needs to deal with her situation at home, individual one to one therapy will cost us £xxx per term.
