Kings Road Primary School strikes Gold

The Gold Challenge has been an extremely positive experience for Kings Road Primary School pupils, providing them with the platform to make a significant difference to the lives of others through engaging in a variety of events.

Kings Road Pupils

Kings Road School pupils taking on the Gold Challenge

They initially intended to raise £2,012 through encouraging the children to collectively cover 2,012 km but eventually raised an incredible £2,800. This is a phenomenal achievement and testament to the amazing support which they received from the whole school community. Their final distance achieved is 3,964km, which again is a truly amazing total. The year 5 and 6 pupils were involved in a range of mountain biking activities on Thursday 1st March, which they thoroughly enjoyed. A Gold Challenge family day was held on Friday 2nd March which ensured they were able to exceed their target.

Head Teacher Phil Kyriacou said, "I am immensely proud as Head Teacher of Kings Road Primary School. The past four weeks of the Gold Challenge, which culminated in a fantastic family fun day, have been an extremely rewarding experience for the whole school community. In addition to this, the fact that we have exceeded both our fundraising and distance targets is the reason why I believe that Kings Road is the best school in the world!"
