Southend Successes for Kids Inspire
Over 30 young people in the Southend area have benefited from Kids Inspire’s support this academic year.
Said one parent about their child:- “The school would call me 2-3 times a week about the bad behaviour and I dreaded answering the phone. Now I get calls telling me how well they have done. It’s lovely.”
Liz Lockwood (Clinical Manager Southend) writes:
Kids Inspire set up a new project in Southend in September 2011, based at Futures Community College. The aim is to enable the school community (children, families and staff) to lead happy, healthy and successful lives. The project has been very successful in supporting the school community, even though this is only our first year. One of the young people was referred to us as they spent most of their time in the support room and excluded. They are now ending this academic year with an award at prize giving! Another young person who was on a managed move to another school has returned to the school, and is now fully engaged in the school timetable and curriculum. Through art therapy and working with a social work student this young person has turned their life around. The parent said ‘I have a new child who is happy and this has had a positive impact at home’.Click here to read the full story..
We have also worked with Futures College to deliver Peer Mentoring training. Read more....
